Το Open Jazz Fusion Ensemble του Τμήματος Μουσικών Σπουδών του
ΕΚΠΑ παρουσιάζει μια μουσική εκδήλωση αφιερωμένη στο έργο της "Greek
Fusion Orchestra" του συνθέτη Κυριάκου Σφέτσα, την Κυριακή 29
Μαρτίου στο Theatre of the No.
Το σύνολο, το οποίο απαρτίζεται από φοιτητές και φοιτήτριες με ιδιαίτερο
ενδιαφέρον για τη σύγχρονη τζαζ, τον αυτοσχεδιασμό και τις διαπολιτισμικές
μουσικές φόρμες, προσεγγίζει το συγκεκριμένο ρεπερτόριο υπό την
ενορχήστρωση και διεύθυνση του Τηλέμαχου Μούσα. Η παρουσίαση
εστιάζει στην ανάδειξη της σύνθετης μουσικής γλώσσας που χαρακτήρισε
την Greek Fusion Orchestra. Μέσα από τη σύμπραξη δυτικών και
παραδοσιακών οργάνων όπως σαξόφωνα, τρομπέτες, ηλεκτρική κιθάρα,
πιάνο, τύμπανα, κοντραμπάσο, βιολί, ούτι και κρουστά το σχήμα διερευνά τη
μουσική των GFO με πολυστυλιστική και ερευνητική διάθεση.
Η καλλιτεχνική διεύθυνση της βραδιάς ανατίθεται στον Τηλέμαχο Μούσα, ο
οποίος επιμελείται την ανασύσταση του υλικού, τιμώντας τη σημαντική
συνθετική παρακαταθήκη του Κυριάκου Σφέτσα μέσα από το συγκεκριμένο
σχήμα.
Η φιλοσοφία του συνόλου επικεντρώνεται στην καλλιέργεια του ομαδικού
μουσικού διαλόγου και της ενορχηστρωτικής ακρίβειας. Παράλληλα,
ενθαρρύνει τους συμμετέχοντες να αναπτύξουν την καλλιτεχνική τους
ταυτότητα μέσω του αυτοσχεδιασμού και του δημιουργικού πειραματισμού
πάνω στις πρωτοποριακές δομές της Greek Fusion Orchestra. Πρόκειται για
μια βραδιά όπου η παράδοση συναντά τη σύγχρονη μουσική δημιουργία και η
αυτοσχεδιαστική ελευθερία λειτουργεί ως γέφυρα ανάμεσα σε διαφορετικά
πολιτισμικά και μουσικά ιδιώματα.

The Open Jazz Fusion Ensemble of the Department of Music Studies at the
National and Kapodistrian University of Athens presents a musical event
dedicated to the work of the Greek Fusion Orchestra by composer
Kyriakos Sfetsas, on Sunday, March 29, at the Theatre of the No.
The ensemble, consisting of students with a strong interest in contemporary
jazz, improvisation, and intercultural musical forms, approaches this
repertoire under the orchestration and direction of Telemachos Moussas.
The presentation focuses on highlighting the complex musical language that
characterized the Greek Fusion Orchestra. Through the collaboration of
Western and traditional instruments such as saxophones, trumpets, electric
guitar, piano, drums, double bass, violin, oud, and percussion, the group
explores the music of the GFO with a multi-stylistic and research-oriented
perspective.
The artistic direction of the evening is undertaken by Telemachos Moussas,
who curates the reconstruction of the material, honoring the significant
compositional legacy of Kyriakos Sfetsas through this ensemble.
The philosophy of the ensemble centers on cultivating collective musical
dialogue and orchestral precision. At the same time, it encourages
participants to develop their artistic identity through improvisation and creative
experimentation on the innovative structures of the Greek Fusion Orchestra.
This event offers an evening where tradition meets contemporary musical
creation, and improvisational freedom serves as a bridge between different
cultural and musical idioms.
