A Paris dans les années cinquante , Madame Rosa, ancienne prostituée , garde chez elle
les enfants des prostituées qui n’ont pas le droit de les élever.
Devenue plus âgée elle se libère de la plupart de ces enfants sauf un, Mohamed ou Momo,
jeune musulman dont la mère a été assassinée par son père. Après 11 ans sans nouvelles
le père de Momo vient le chercher mais Madame Rosa, de confession juive, va inventer une
raison pour garder le garçon avec elle jusqu’à la fin
